Brief History of the Department

The commerce department shift II has been providing quality education since 1998 when B.Com was started. In 1999 B.B.A. was started and B.Com. (Corporate Secretaryship) was started in 2000. Currently there are around 1200 students for B.Com., 240 students for BBA., and 320 students for B.Com. Corporate. The department teaches the syllabi (common to Shift I & II) through learner – centered teaching methods such as case studies, role play, field visits and project work. Besides the regular program, the department offers value added and co - curricular programs. There are remedial classes organized for deserving students. With the help of the faculty members and student body-the Commerce forum- the department has achieved many laurels. The new facility of School of Commerce& Economics is expected by June, 2012.
