The department of Commerce is in its 65th year of functioning. Currently the department operates in two shifts and offers B.Com, B.Com (Corp), B.B.A., and M.Com. It is a research department; with full time and part time M. Phil and Ph. D research Studies. Totally there are 40 faculty members and about 2000 undergraduate students, 80 postgraduate students and 20 research scholars. Presently the thrust area is Entrepreneurship and Innovations.
The fast changing technological and socio economic realities call for world class pedagogy, personnel and facilities, to serve the nation and prepare the students to become world leaders of tomorrow. Keeping this in mind, Loyola wants to make the School of Commerce, a standalone department, with its own advisory board housed in a world class facility. This initiative will help not only scholarly achievements but is also aimed at industry - institute interaction, collaboration with the best schools in the world and pursue joint research with best minds nationally and globally.
Students of commerce are welcome to approach the Dean for all their academic requirements during their tenure in the college as well as after passing out of their courses. Suggestions, recommendations and voluntary services from students and teachers are encouraged to strengthen the department in its academic quality and in its infrastructural needs.
Let us jointly ensure holistic development for all those who go through the Department.
