The Enviro club of Loyola college started with a grand opening of the new club logo and by reminding the members of enviro club goal, “to protect and preserve”.
Hiroshima day was commemorated and “Coastal Cleanup day” was taken by seriously by the students. Members actively participated in “Jesuit Environmental Week” which lasted for 3 days. They participated in campus cleaning, screening of documentaries and awareness talks.
The club co-ordinated with the Chennai corporation for the “Coovum Restoration Project on 7th, 8th and 9th of September 2010. Students helped corporation officials in creating awareness on keeping the river coovum clean.
A one day film festival on environment was conducted in collaboration with School of Media Studies, Loyola College, British Council and Pragathi Foundation on 9th February, 2011.
