Annual Report (2006 -2007)

The club initiated a highly appreciated public, `Anti – Tyre Burning Campaign’ on Bhogi day in 10 zones of Chennai City to educate the public not to burn tyres.

Also the following challenging programmes are to be executed by February.

1. Inviting school students to expose them to various environmental issues      through Seminar, Quiz, Skit, etc, for which invitations have already been      extended.
2.  Unveiling of the annual Enviro Club newsletter “Green News”.
3.  Conducting an Environmental Audit in the College Campus with the objective      of promoting Energy conservation. Articles are invited on environmental      issues, concerns, and solutions.

The web site www.enviroclub.tk has been launched by Enviro Club to disseminate information on environmental issues. The activities will be presented in the web sites.

Dr. S.Balaji.,IFS., Director, Department of Environment, Government of Tamilnadu was the Chief guest for the inauguration of the Club's activities for the year 2004-05 and he was also launched the web site. Rev. Fr. A. Albert Muthumalai, S.J., Principal, presided over the function.

Highlights of the Web Site:

1. It has articles on various topics such as
   a) Rain water harvesting
   b) Eco Friendly Practices.
   c) Global warming and various environmental hot issues.
   
2. The site has an in built search engine which makes the visitor to search for the articles easily.
   
3. The visitors can submit their articles online.
