General Rules

GUIDELINES FOR LIBRARY USAGE

Before entering the Library, register your visit, by scanning your I.D. Card, in the scanner which is placed near the entrance.


RETURN COUNTER

- One Rupee per day (including holidays) will be collected as fine amount for late return of books after due date.

- Collect the receipt for all transactions.

- Kindly maintain single line.

- Kindly maintain silence while standing in the queue.

ISSUE COUNTER
- Apart from the alloted number of books in each category extra books will not be issued (books are meant for use – but for others also).

- No manual entry, only computer entry.

- Avoid using cell phones.

- Kindly maintain silence while standing in the queue.

 

PHOTOCOPIER
- Maintain silence.

- Form a single line.

- Avoid using cell phones.

- Only library documents will be allowed, no outside materials entertained.

- Library documents will not be allowed outside for Photocopying.

- Regarding charges see the notice board.

 

REFERENCE SECTION

- Newspapers, Magazines, Journals and Reference Books are meant only for reference inside the Library.

- Students and Staff are requested not to pressurise the library staff to issue reference books-let us not deny the opportunity of others in utilising those books.

- Dictionaries,Encyclopedias,Multiple Volume Books, Year Books, Entrance Exam Books, Government Publications, Maps, Foreign Publications, General Knowledge Books, Objective type Question Books, one copy of text books ,Popular Books and some other titles as decided by Librarian will be in the Reference Section.

- Kindly maintain silence in the reference section.

- Outside books and materials are not allowed here.

- Avoid using cell phones.

- Kindly maintain silence.

 

OTHER SECTIONS

- When you are inside the sections do not indulge in conversation with others.

- Kindly avoid misplacing or tampering books.

- Avoid entering into the sections beyond the stipulated time.

 

GENERAL RULES

- When you are inside the library keep yourself engaged with it , not with others.

- Kindly remember that others also have come for reading.

- When you are entering the library please wear your I.D. card. Do not lend your I.D. card to others, do not use others I.D. card.

- When you are entering the library please leave your bags, books, notebooks, notes, etc. in the place allotted.

- Except white paper (for taking down notes) no other material is allowed.

- If you are not able to replace the books in proper place, just leave it on the table, do not insert in wrong place.please avoid hiding books in different places.

- Library is a service organization, not only for today but, for generations. So kindly avoid tampering with books or any other document.

- Rules are meant for implementation (not for arguments or violation) which is finalised by higher authorities.
