LOYOLA INSTITUTE OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION (LIVE)
Loyola College (Autonomous), Chennai is a Jesuit institution owned by the Loyola College Society. It has been serving the country in the field of education for the past 90 years. The institution's concern and commitment for the welfare of the students is well known.
The University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of Human Resource Development, India and the Government of Tamil Nadu have stressed the importance of vocational education as an integral part of education for every educational institution in the country, imparting higher education. Loyola Institute of Vocational Education (LIVE) was inaugurated in the year 1996 to offer vocational education in Loyola College to aspiring youth.
LIVE offers programs to diverse aspirants in the fields of Media, Travel & Tourism, and Medical Laboratory Technology for about two decades. Though LIVE is not affiliated to the University of Madras, courses offered are widely recognised by the industry for their merit and quality. The students who have completed these courses have secured jobs in reputed organisations. It offers programs for pre-college Students and graduates. The programs offered in LIVE are designed to develop the knowledge, skills and attitude coupled with social responsibility.
Mode of instruction varies from course to course. Predominantly the students are trained through group discussions, seminars, business games, audio-visuals, case studies, research assignments, field visits, production-based practical's, industrial visits, educational trip and internship in their respective fields.
