The Department is committed to offer quality education in Sociology. The Department seeks to fulfill this commitment through innovative methods of teaching and learning and by exposing the students to the frontier and upcoming areas within Sociology. Medical Sociology, Science Technology & Society, Sociology of Literature, Future Studies, Sociology of Economic Life, Sociology of Social Movements and Sociology of Religion to mention a few.
The under graduate programme is unique, incorporating the essential theoretical inputs together with on-site study programmes and a research study as practical components. The Department periodically revises and updates its curriculum.
