LISSTAR

Loyola Institute of Social Science Training and Research (LISSTAR) is a flourishing humanities and social science research unit of Loyola College (Autonomous) Chennai, instituted in 2007 by the Jesuit management. The prime focus of LISSTAR is research, training, and publication. In our endeavours to strengthen and stimulate new academic avenues and think tank initiatives, the objectives of the institution are to:
- track and review social trends
- support research that impacts social policies
- contribute to discourses that influence developments in social theories
- promote research and advocacy rights of refugees and migrants
- encourage research temperament among emerging researchers, and
- endorse inter-disciplinary research

Endowed with an enterprising disposition, LISSTAR collaborates with advanced research centres, such as Centre for Development Studies (CDS) at Trivandrum, Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD) - an institution of national importance by the Act of Parliament No.35/2012 under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (Government of India), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHRC), IDE-JETRO - Japan, and other premier research institutions.

Social Glance an interdisciplinary journal of Social Science and Humanities is an annual publication by LISSTAR. For further details on submission, please click Social Glance.
