Research Colloquium "PRAXIS"

PRAXIS: The tradition of research in sociology is deeply rooted in empirical inquiry and theoretical development. Since its inception, sociology has sought to understand human society through systematic observation, data collection, and analysis. In line with this tradition, the Sociology department is proud to present “Praxis”. This is an interdisciplinary research colloquium series that is organised every month, and is designed to foster intellectual exchange and critically examine the interface between sociological theory and real-world practice. This series provides a vital platform for faculty, graduate students, and invited external scholars to present their research experiences across the diverse subfields of sociology as well as other disciplines and to gain insights on how to do research as well as the various developments in the field, which are relevant to research, including new software, discussions on diverse perspectives, and so on. The overarching goal of Praxis is to encourage rigorous methodological debate, promote innovative conceptualizations of social problems, and explore the practical implications of sociological findings, embodying the dynamic relationship between scholarly inquiry and action.
